The space
The property forms a part of Wolfen Mill Country Retreats which is a 350-year-old country water mill in the Forest of Bowland in the northern area of rural Lancashire.We have 9 individual apartments which link into the common core of the building where we have a purpose built dining room with its own kitchen. Its a super special place.We have a wedding licence too and can accommodate intimate wedding for up to 50 at the service. By use of a marquee weddings can be held 150 guests or more on our land.At Wolfen Mill you have plenty of garden areas to enjoy including our lake side decking with magnificent views of the Bowland fells, this is reached via our additional guest lounge facility easlity located from your property within the Mill.You will have easy access to FREE parking and we have a large courtyard available for you right outside your door for sitting and enjoying a cosy cuppa or even a glass or two of wine.We hold a licence for wedding ceremonies and use of the venue can be exclusively arranged, we charge a fee of ?500 for weddings

The house and gardens provide a beautiful oasis with the Quantock Hills in the distance. The indoor and outdoor space work really well for a large group, either family, friends or work colleagues. There’s space to be together, to dine, to socialise and play, but also to have quiet time to read a book, if that’s what you’d like. The house has supremely comfortable beds, high spec shower and bathrooms – with all bedrooms having an en-suite.With so much entertainment on-site, it’s often not necessary to leave the property – but if you do, there is plenty available.

The Milking Parlour Grande has 9 bedrooms and is part of Oakerthorpe Holiday Village.
The space
The Milking Parlour Grande is one of seven properties set in the complex at Oakerthorpe Holiday Village and is a barn conversion consisting of 9 bedrooms. The ground floor has 4 double bedrooms all with en-suite and 2 twin rooms along with a family bathroom. A further 3 double bedrooms all with en-suites (please note one of double beds is against a wall) are on the first floor with a large living area complete with banqueting table and seating up to 24 people with a state of the art kitchen which includes a large fridge, freezer, wine cooler, range cooker, dishwasher and for your convenience the property has a washing machine and tumble drier on the ground floor.The Grande has a standard occupancy of 18 however we are able to sleep 24 by adding additional put up beds in the largest bedrooms. The price is ?20 per bed/per night.The property boasts of underfloor heating and is very snug and cosy despite of the mandatory single glazing.For your enjoyment the property boasts of Freeview TV and Wi-Fi and private courtyard complete with hot tub.Incidentally The Milking Parlour Grande was visited by Oti Mabuse the Strictly Come Dancing Star where she recorded the media advert for Sainsburys (see her comments and picture in the visitors book)Grounds include a large playpark with playhouse, designated BBQ area, a floodlit sports area and a bespoke enclosed dog walking area along the banks of the River Amber, where the adjacent sluice gates and weir will be seen that served to provide water power to the neighbouring Cotton Mill circa 1790. Adjacent the property is a walled Orchard which has chickens, geese, ducks, bantams, quails, peacocks, sheep, pigs and meerkats is where Farmer Vic invites guests to help at feeding time and collect eggs from the chickens throughout the year except during the Christmas period.Oakerthorpe Holiday Village aims to provide a truly memorable stay for all its guests with top class accommodation, striving at all times to deliver the very best along with giving a unique and memorable experience however we would like to make you aware that approximately 150 metres from the property is a main railway line which for many, especially our younger visitors, enriches the village experience from which it must be said there is minimal sound pollution.
